PRISHTINA / PRISTINA ++ The Kosovo budget has seemingly lost a donation from EU and IMF in a in a range of 120-200 Mio Euro. The transfer was frozen after an 30% increase of wages for employees of Kosovan public and governmental institutions, following an according pre-election promise of Kosovo PM Thaci. Both EU and IMF considered this as a break of formal agreements with the Republic of Kosovo ++ The Ministers of Finance of Kosovo and Macedonia (FYROM) Bedri Hamza and Zoran Stavreski signed an agreement to refuse double income taxation of their citizens and enterprises ++ 1,365 registered firms announced bankruptcy in 2010, whereas the Kosovo Business Registration Agency – ARBK – did not specify the number of (truly) active businesses closed: 2/3 of 150,000 registered firms are considered to be inactive or “phantom” enterprises ++ For more see BI, News Monitor 06.04.2011, KON
