Soccer: Team Kosovo, New York

NewYorkNEW YORK / PRISTINA, Kosovo — The Republic of Kosovo declared its indepen- dence in February 2008, but is not yet recognized by the United Nations. Likewise its football (soccer) federation is still not a member neither of the European Football Association UEFA, nor of the International Football Association FIFA (mainly blocked by Serbia’s rejection). Due to this a Kosovo football team can’t even try to qualify for the according European or World Championship: "Kosovar soccer as an international entity remains in limbo …: But that doesn’t mean a Kosovo team can’t play in New York.
